The all new Vitara gained a new design for 2017 while shedding some size and kilos off its scale. The all new look is sharper, compact and more modern than the outgoing model. The new Vitara comes in various shade of colors in different dual color trims.
The Vitara is now powered by a naturally aspirated 1.6li, gasoline engine mated to a 6 speed AT transmission. It is paired to a paddle shifter (for the GLX mode), and all variants comes standard with push start button. Power is rated at 115hp, though not stellar, the new Vitara is almost 100 kilograms lighter than the old model. This gives 115 horses more traction on the road and less work for both engines and transmission.
If you opt for the GLX model, the highest variant of the Vitara, which I would certainly hope you would, this model comes packed with standard feature for a good price. GLX is listed to have power moonroof, 10 inch Adriod info-tainment head unit, 6 airbags, smart brake assist and of course, all Vitara units arriving in the Philippines will come from Europe (Made in Hungary). I also love how the Vitara incorporated in its center dashboard an analog watch, which is quite classy. Initial check on the build quality seems to be good from the outside and on the inside, save for some dominant use of plastic in the cabin. Thankfully, they are well screwed together.
I am excited to give you more in-depth review of the all new Vitara in my Weekend Drive as soon as test unit becomes available. Stay tuned for more. For the meantime, visit Autocentrale, Inc. showroom in Mandaue City to catch a glimpse of the all new Suzuki Vitara, it lives!
